Roger Guenveur Smith (Obie-winning creators of A Huey P. Newton Story) has begun rehearsals for his new work Juan and John. This production focuses on the 1965 altercation between Juan Marichal and John Roseboro, and uses it as a springboard for discussions on rage, retribution, and redemption. The production will utilize music, photographs and video clippings including this original print of Juan Marichal’s card. The card was printed one year before the infamous incident at Candlestick Park.
